PHD MENTORING DAY

Coordinated by Scientific Committee Director, Andrés Almazán (McCombs), the PhD Mentoring Day will be held on July 5, 2023, one day prior to the start of the 30th Finance Forum. It will include:

Mentoring sessions: where our outstanding invited mentors will discuss the latest advances in research and offer career advice for the PhD students.

Parallel sessions: where a reduced number of PhD students will have the opportunity to present their work and receive feedback from our mentors, the members of the scientific committee and other guest scholars.

 

INVITED PROFESSORS

CHRISTIAN EUFINGER

Christian Eufinger is Associate Professor at IESE’s Financial Management Department. He teaches Banking, Corporate Finance, Valuation, and Operational Finance, in IESE’s MBA, Executive MBA, Global Executive MBA, and executive education programs. Prof. Eufinger’s research interests include the foundations of interbank markets, the interaction of banks’ capital structure and investment choices, the corporate governance of banks, banking regulation, and the channels through which banks exert an influence on the real economy.

JAVIER SUÁREZ

Javier Suárez is Full Professor of Finance at CEMFI. He teaches Corporate Finance and Banking. Prof. Suárez’s research interests include corporate finance, banking theory, banking regulation, financial crises and venture capital. He is Research Fellow of the Center for Economic Policy Research, Research Associate of the European Corporate Governance Institute, Member of the Advisory Scientific Committee of the European Systemic Risk Board, and Academic consultant of the Financial Research Division of the European Central Bank.
